I have a dear friend, Liz. Liz is Dr. Elizabeth A. Garcia-Gray of Louisville, Kentucky. She once threatened, "Steve, if you don't start taking every opportunity to have more fun and enjoy life, I will see about having your "LOVE LIFE" sign taken away from you!" I took her words to heart and have had a lot more fun ever since.
Liz is a physician specializing in psychiatry who serves both children and adults. She has followed her heart all over the world to where healing is needed. To places such as, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the great Southeast Asian tsunami and the explosion of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines. Her heart has also led her to take on some of humanity's "slow motion disasters" such as the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
Dr. Garcia-Gray is now and has been for some time, doing all she can to insure clean and safe water for Uganda. She is committed to stopping the deaths of 3 million people yearly from waterborne illnesses. In order to raise money for the purchase of McGuire water purifiers for Uganda, she is giving all profits from her newly released coffee table book, "Your Compassionate Nature"
In "Your Compassionate Nature" Dr. Elizabeth Garcia-Gray has beautifully integrated her love of Nature and photography, writing about her global missions and causes, uplifting compassion and love in our world. Dr. Garcia-Gray is also the author of:
The Courage To Encourage
The Phoenix Miracle
Utmost
I Love You Anyway
Liz, like me, has had extreme tragedy in her life. I am learning from her to not lay down and whimper about it, to get up and heal yourself by helping others! This is a quote by Liz that has helped me personally, I feel it to be a rule we might all use in our lives:
When all is said and done
and the dust has settled in,
I ask myself
Did I feel all the love I was given?
Did I give life my optimum?
Did I love all my maximum?

NOTE: In my 21,000 miles of walking this wonderful country, I can honestly and sincerely say that Liz Garcia-Gray is one of the most giving and unselfish human beings I have ever met!! If you have ever wanted to get involved in helping others and just haven't found the right avenue yet, PLEASE check out this dear lady and her wonderful endeavors!!!
